What Henry’s been up to lately

This is a regular occurrence, particularly since he figured out how to climb into the crib from the table next to it.  He often goes in there just to play (but he can’t get out yet, so once he’s in there he’s stuck until I rescue him).

Sometimes he likes to try to change his own diaper.  He has some of the basics down, but it’s clear that much of the process remains rather mysterious to him.

This is long… I apologize.  Henry loves to “read” from his baby book, so I just thought I’d share some of that experience with you.  Grandparents, feel free to follow along in your books at home.  :-)

One month…

In one month, we will have officially bought our first house and will be moving in.  Yay!  I wish I could say that this is keeping me busy, but it’s not.  Next week, I will start collecting boxes and getting some things packed up, but until then all I can do is wait (yes, my wonderful husband is taking care of all the hard stuff!).  Since the house is in great condition, we won’t really have to do much when we move in.  Maybe a little bit of paint, but we might just wait on that until things settle down.  In any case, though, I am getting excited.  Here are a few pictures of the house just to get you excited, too:

The outside: it’s the left half of a duplex.  With a driveway and a mailbox and everything.  Yay!LO7216124_2

The backyard.  With a patio, plenty of space, and TWO storage sheds.  The edge of the yard marks the boundary of the historic district of Leesburg, with us just inside of it.  I’m not sure that 1955 is exactly historic, but that’s ok.  LO7216124_4_2

The living room.  LO7216124_6_2

The basement.  Hooray for wood paneling!  I feel right at home already.  :-)  LO7216124_24_1

The dining room.  It’s a good thing we like yellow rooms…LO7216124_11_2

So there it is!  Please continue to keep us in your prayers as we get things finalized and prepare to move.  `And if anyone wants to come visit, just let us know!  The basement is waiting for its first guests.  :-)   (And of course, by Easter there will be an additional reason for you to visit.  So no excuses!)

Baba…

Henry now identifies all four of his grandparents (plus great-grandparents) in pictures as “Baba.” (I guess you could choose to hear this as “papa” if that makes you feel better… it’s hard to tell, really). He also knows that he can find these pictures in his baby book, which he’s been asking for frequently in the last few days. Maybe by the time we see the grandparents again, the names will have become a little clearer? Oh well… at least we’ve got something consistent for right now. :-)
